PS/Application Consulting? Worth the Money?

Has anyone hired a consultant specific to their personal statement? Any recommendations?

The only case that I can imagine it being worth it would be if you are an absolutely horrible writer and need someone to take you in hand, step by step.

Otherwise, as benwyatt said, TLS should be plenty good enough.
