You're a great writer, and this is written well. But I don't agree with the topic choice. I see a passion for backpacking, but I didn't feel the same for law. What is your work and volunteering experience in? Is there another reason for wanting to go to law school and into law? Do you have any personal encounters with the legal system? Also, don't mention studying for the lsat here.

You write well. This topic gives readers some insight into your interests & surface level thoughts, but not much else. Nevertheless, you're not competing for a spot at Yale so this is fine for Tennessee so long as your GPA & LSAT meet their medians or close to them.

I like it very much. It might even be better to totally omit the "why law" part.

This was my primary concern and was part of why I posted this in the first place. My WE isn't really law-related, its in retail banking. (I can PM you if you want the details but its not a glamorous position) My volunteer experience is pretty eclectic although, I will be volunteering with an organization that provides legal aid to low income groups at the end of the month (only time I could schedule this over work). So b/w those two factors I chose something non-law related, but something I was passionate about.
I felt making any stronger of a "why law?" component would be a bit of a stretch with this topic choice.
I'll remove the LSAT part, I was iffy about adding it anyway.

Currently working on another draft with a stronger answer to the "Why Law?" question.
ETA: Also with a different topic.

If you found a connection between backpacking and law like you did here, I'm sure you'll see a meaningful connection between your work and volunteering experiences and you may even surprise yourself in the process. Do keep this draft--you have a great idea to keep working at writing different drafts. It sounds like you know what you are doing and what your weaknesses are. GL
