The first construction makes it sound like English is not your first language. Also consider adding "the" before "law."

Unsolicited advice: adcoms very much dislike legal analysis in PS (of course i don't have context here, so maybe my thoughts are unwarranted)

Hey, thanks. Yeah, I just made up a sentence. It's not in my PS.
