An addendum is completely unnecessary and your explanation may even show poor judgement on your part, but if you insist on doing an addendum, what you have written will suffice.

I dunno, maybe you can add something about how you were not properly dressed for the occasion the last time but you went shopping for this one and showed up in style which really helped?

I'm in a similar boat. I had an 11 point increase between my first and second take. I totally choked and got a 158 the first time and now have a 169. With that big of a jump is it still not necessary to write an addendum explaining my 1st score?
