grammar question

Post by BillsFan9907 » Mon Oct 13, 2014 1:32 am

I'm reaching back into my SAT writing for this.

Which of the following is correct? Are both correct?

1) When situations arose such as Mark waking up too late...

2) When situations arose such as Mark's waking up too late...

I vaguely remember something about the actor "possessing" the verb.

Doesn't matter which one is correct. Don't write like this.

I don't. I needed to come up with simple examples of the issue that I wish to address at 2 AM.

When Mark's using gerunds incorrectly became a source of frustration for Alice, she secretly hoped the selfish asshole would visit Syria and get beheaded.

This gentleman's principle is correct.
