Is the Yale 250 single or double spaced?

Given that the word length is so small, I've found that it makes the most stylistic sense to go single space, with "paragraphs" ranging from 1-3 sentences. Is this kosher?

Just an aside, I've been hearing they prefer essays on academic subjects. Yet, virtually all of the examples below are personal in nature:
