Re: First Draft of Personal Statement
you used the pronoun "he" a fucktillion times. your only description of "him" is "my appointed youth with valuable services"

Casa was correct. Very rough first draft more about getting words on the page than anything. I appreciate the input.

Re: First Draft of Personal Statement
Is having a copy of a version of this personal statement going to be a problem for admissions? Is it suggested it be taken down or will admission never see this so they wont care if some random post on a forum has parts of my statement in it?

1. Although there are a few admissions people who are known to read TLS, the odds that they browse long enough to find your particular PS are pretty slim.
2. The odds that they'd take the time to compare submitted applications to online stuff is even slimmer. Maybe if your life experiences sounded so incredible that they wanted to do an online plagiarism search to make sure it wasn't actually an excerpt from the biography of Sir Ranulph Fiennes or something.
3. There's no rule against seeking input on your PS; especially since I assume you'd be editing further and wouldn't just be using my version verbatim.
But some people prefer that their essays get removed. If you'd like me to delete it from my post, I can.

Well, that does comfort me a little bit but I think I would feel more comfortable if the whole post was taken down.

Posts don't generally get deleted, but you can edit it and remove the text.Anonymous User wrote:Well, that does comfort me a little bit but I think I would feel more comfortable if the whole post was taken down.
