This sounds like a 'safe' PS, something that a lot of other people might write. I don't know if it would really make you stand out from the pack without reading the actual PS itself.

That being said, it's a PS that's worked before, so I would write it up if I were you, then get back to brainstorming. Try to have 3-4 good essays written, set them down for a bit, them come back and see which one strikes you as most interesting. You have plenty of time to figure this out.

You probably don't need that paragraph about 'being easy to work with.' They won't care, they might just be glad to have a conservative applying.


And don't hire a consultant. Some schools will specifically ask you if you did, so I don't see the advantage. Just keep hanging out on TLS to pick up years of good advice, and check out school adcom blogs. Yale's is particularly good, but there are more that talk about essays.
