Reusing Personal Statement
I applied to law school when I graduated college back in 2010, and got into some great schools but I ultimately decided to go to work in the private sector instead. Now I'm interested in law school again and am looking to reapply. Do I need to write a new personal statement, or can I use my existing one with maybe a few extra sentences to bring it up to date?

You might be missing a great opportunity to make up some bullshit about an event that confirmed your desire to attend law school.

Perhaps, but do you think I could get away with NOT rewriting it?

Re: Reusing Personal Statement
Some applications ask you to disclose whether you previously applied to that institution. So be aware that it is entirely possible that they still have your previous application on file. With that being said, take the time to revisit your personal statement. Maybe your writing style has evolved since your previous version. At the very least, as you suggested, you can add new information to bring it up to date.
