Double-Spaced- submitted in 1.5 spaced. Now what?
The subject says it all.... Used my standard personal statement that was 1.5 spaced (1.75 pages) for a school that requested double spacing. Does it matter?

You should be double-spacing for all schools.
Yes, they will notice, and they'll see that your PS is too long and that you are unable or unwilling to follow directions. How much that hurts you is anyone's guess, and probably depends on a whole lot of other factors, like what your numbers are compared to that school's medians, whether they need a tiebreaker to decide between you and someone else, and whether the adcomm reading your file is having a bad day.

Learn from it and don't do it in job applications. Follow the directions, no matter how strange.Anonymous User wrote:The subject says it all.... Used my standard personal statement that was 1.5 spaced (1.75 pages) for a school that requested double spacing. Does it matter?
