University Addendum

At ******** State University during my freshman year, I, along with my roommates, were subjected to a random dorm room search. The Residential Advisors found empty beer cans and bottles in the living room trash. Under campus policy no alcohol was allowed anywhere on campus and I was issued a violation ticket for which I attended alcohol classes the following weekend on campus. I fulfilled all requirements for the citation. I regret as well as accept responsibility for my mistake. This was my first and only offense for the duration of my college career.

Disorderly Conduct and MIP

On April 18th 2008, during my senior year in high school, I was leaving a friends apartment with my girlfriend. After having 2 beers in the apartment, while playing video games, and coming down a few flights of stairs to ground level I realized I needed to quickly relieve myself. I proceeded to relieve myself in the woods to the side of the building. Upon emerging I saw 3-5 police cars at the front entrance. I sped walk out of their way and proceeded to my girlfriend’s car for my ride. Before I got to it, an officer came after me in suspicion and questioned me. I told him exactly what I had done and admitted to having a drink. I was detained for minor in possession of alcohol (in my body) and disorderly conduct for relieving myself in the woods. Adhering to the judges requests I completed 20 hours of community service and attended an evaluative session by a counselor to make sure I was not abusing alcohol. Upon the completion of these requirements my record was expunged.

I realize my decisions were unacceptable and I take full responsibility and blame for what happened. There should be no reason to do what I did outside nor is there a reason to consume alcohol while underage. From then on I have not had any such legal incidences and have kept a clean record.



So the University one I'm not worried about. But the MIP and Disorderly Conduct is pretty embarrassing for me and it is the truth. I just am not sure how to best write it out succinctly. Yes I had some beers, I came down (should have used bathroom in the apartment, trust me I know) stairs and really had to pee, peed in the woods. Went walking back to gf's car and was stopped by one of the cops. I really was playing video games -- FIFA for that matter -- he questioned me but didn't seem like he believed me, at least about the fact that there wasn't a party in there. I was 19, told the truth, wasn't drunk, got arrested. I just want to make sure that what I wrote doesn't try to play things down or doesn't just sound to stupid to be true. Appreciate the help guys

It could probably be much shorter with less extraneous details. Try this for example.

"During my senior year of high school, I was caught urinating in public after consuming two drinks with friends and was charged with disorderly conduct and possession as a minor. I was sentenced to 20 hours of community service and screening for alcohol abuse by a counselor. Upon completion of the sentence, my record was expunged and the counselor determined that I was not abusing alcohol. I regret my actions that day and believe I learned from the incident.

It's simple, factual and clean. It's all they need to know. Also provide any documentation available on the incidents.

Oh ok, I was just confused because it wasn't as worse as it would sound or this situation would usually be so in my description I wanted to make sure it was known, like I didn't drive or anything, wasn't stumbling drunk nor was I fighting someone. Although, I don't know why I didn't think of the word "urinate"

Anyway, yes I think I will change it around and use your template.

Also the documentation for this, would just be sent in as extra since the application doesn't have an option, nor does it tell me, for providing?

Yeah, just send it to the admissions office with your name, LSAC #, etc. so they can add it to your file.
