Personal vs Diversity

Post by Hopeful90 » Wed Sep 11, 2013 6:25 pm

So for my Personal statement I am thinking of writing about strong values I learned by having to push myself through adversity to get where I am now; in essence relating how these values would serve me well in law school. And for my Diversity statement I am wanting to write about my URM background and involvement in the community, and how my political awareness in this community has led to me to seek out law for the benefit of my community. Am I doing this right?

Thanks! I am a complete noob at this, but I am wondering if it matters if there is any overlap between the two?

Some overlap is ok. But if it's a substantial amount, just write one statement. You don't have to write a specific DS if that comes through well in your PS.
