what should my ps be about?

Post by Anonymous User » Sat Jul 20, 2013 3:14 pm

Should I write about

1. my pakistani muslim background, adversity I faced growing up
2. how I made $15,000 in a month as a 14-year old boy on ebay dropshipping goods
3. experience I gained working in a law firm for 1 year

which of these topics have appeal?

I'd say whichever you can turn into a strong narrative of who you are and why you make a good law school candidate. This could be something that includes all of these things but then again that may seem like a restatement of your résumé since your résumé is the reason I was able to point out who you are lol

while none of these topics are bad, I recommend that you zoom it in a bit. I'm pretty sure almost every muslim is gonna talk about some kind of adversity they faced post-9/11 or try and do some da'wah about why islam got a bad rap in the media and that she or she is fighting to defend their faith and educate others. Perhaps you can write about something more subtle, like perhaps your experiences on christmas days growing up ("if jesus was a prophet, why can't i get presents, too?") or how it felt taking a day off school during eid ul-fitr during your youth. keep it refreshing and go in to detail. make it "you."

15,000 might be a good idea, but you may come off as a little arrogant with the whole boy-genius phenomenon.
