Can you send a revised essay after you submitted it through

Post by abc8542 » Sat Dec 08, 2012 4:49 pm

LSAC? It's a small phrase that didn't make grammatical sense but it seems like no one has noticed it but me after re-reading my essay SOOO many times. I had my parents read it, teachers, my girlfriend, people on TLS and no one has pointed it out but me after like literally 2 weeks of re-reading it over and over again. I won't include what phrase it is but it's just something that's making me paranoid to think that if they do catch it, they'll be like oh wow look at this idiot make a grammatical error, yeah lets just throw his app to the bin.

Can someone tell me whether I can send a revised version? Or am I screwed? Or is this not a big deal?

If they noticed it, you're already boned to the extent you can be boned by this. If they didn't, it's hard to see how sending them a giant alert that you screwed it up is going to benefit your candidacy.

so you would suggest not sending in the revised version?

all right, if sending them a revision will hurt me, then to what extent if they discover the mistake will it hurt my chances? If it's like a safety school then would it harm my chances significantly to being denied?

Revision won't hurt you that much, unless its a HUGE mistake. Send in a revision, it's not the end of the world. Be polite, and be brief. I'm in law school at a T-20 and sent in a revision to 2 schools, both of which I ended up getting into. Don't fret too much, really not a big deal.

Just don't make a habit of it.

Are you being serious? No one can tell you that. Certainly not without knowing what the mistake actually was.

Most essays have grammatical errors; it's a fact of life. I imagine they're more common and more forgivable the further down the food chain you go.
