Why ____? essay question

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Nov 13, 2012 10:12 pm

Does it come off as too kiss ass if I say I read a book by one of the star faculty members that ties into my own experience and reasons for studying law/my personal statement and that it was a motivating factor for choosing the school?

Thanks in advance

I think you can definitely write about that as long as you have good, concrete explanations that go beyond the generic "I think one of your professors is super smart, and this shows that your school must be super awesome too." You mentioned that the book tied in with your own experience - if you can expand on your own experience a bit and use the book as more of a tie-in, that would work well.
