ITT: North EA's to Cornell before midnight

Post by North » Mon Nov 05, 2012 5:44 pm

So, I was surprised by a 168 a couple days ago. I thought I had completely bombed October and was too sad to write a targeted personal statement during the weeks before scores came out. Well, a 168 is somewhat competitive at Cornell. So, on the advice of TLSers, I'll be cranking out a Disciplinary Action and Personal Statement before midnight tonight and applying EA to Cornell. I'm a splitter and desperately need the miniscule bump it'll provide me.

[...]

I'm working on the PS now and my GF is condensing my resume down to one page.

Cornell Law School, not Cornell University Law School. Cornell has served me well; hope you get in. Good Luck.

I am actually in the exact same boat- tryin' to race against the clock to finish this PS!
With the product I have now though and the pace that I'm going at, I'm not likely to finish, but I'm gonna give it my best shot...

Good luck!!

North - just FYI - OP doesn't show the make/made error fixed (I only tell you b/c there's no reason to submit a PS w/ a grammatical error)

Goodluck!

I won't comment on how the adcomm will view this only because I dont want to give bad advice (I don't what they look for in a PS and don't trust my own). But what I will say, is this is very very impressive writing, especially considering how little time you've put into it. I'm rooting for ya, North.

I didn't expect to have to pay before it could be submitted....

What should I do? Send an e-mail and ask if they'll take pity and consider it EA?

you should seek advice as to how to best approach the admissions people to see if this counts as on time or not. You dont want to draw attention to the fact that it was last minute, so maybe there is a way to see somewhere if it says you are an EA applicant or not?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
