PS Topic question

Post by T Ro » Sat Oct 27, 2012 4:22 pm

Would this be a good/appropriate topic?

Late in my senior year of highschool my best friend unexpectedly committed suicide while I was on skype with him. Would it be possible to craft a good statement around this or is it too gory/depressing?

It could conceivably work if the experience shaped you/your legal trajectory in some major way, but I would tread very, very lightly.

Of course I would use it as a framework to illustrate the appropriate PS themes. Im just concerned that its too dark.

More opinions would be appreciated.

How, may I ask, do you see this framework ultimately taking shape? Explaining your vision would help people gauge whether or not the topic is palatable. Right now, my intuition says that you'd be choosing this event to write about because it's provocative and quite possibly the worst thing that's ever happened in your life. But neither of these reasons can justify writing about something so dreadful.
