I think that this addendum is warranted, and would probably bolster your application. However, the last sentence of the first paragraph confuses me. I don't fully see the connection to the rest of the information. Is that what you did instead of going to school?

Also, maybe specify "withdrawing from university" or something in the third sentence, because it's unclear if you're referring to the military or your job or school.
