diversity statement...?

Post by esther0123 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 2:48 am

hi sorry for the double post! I'm an immigrant and came to Canada at 10 from Asia. Would that warrant a diversity statement? do most schools require a DS/would a diversity statement increase the chance of admissions in top schools?

Do most applicants move from Asia to Canada at age 10? If not, yes, it counts as diversity.

No, not most schools.

It would slightly help but would compensate for low LSAT and GPA

1. No

2. Maybe, slightly. Not if your LSAT/GPA are not in the ball park.

Does studying a unique field at the graduate level constitute a diversity statement?

I think the diversity statement relates more to cultural/ethnic diversity. It might be an interesting addition to a personal statement though.
