Still a little confused though, can't find a direct answer after searching threads.
Many schools ask for a personal statement about abroad experiences, community service involvement, and/or involvement. I was told to avoid directly re listing my resume which includes all of these activities. I took the approach of including an experience that shaped me, inspired me to become involved, and how that has made me into who I am today. I had intended on using this for every law school? Although this may not directly answer the above question or the question saying I can write about abroad, books, current events, etc., this is a personal statement about how I've grown and who I've become. It also shows my writing ability?
Can I use a statement like this for every school?

Sport,
Just write about what makes you want to be a lawyer. That will suffice. Try to add something about an accomplishment or a lesson learned that motivates you.
And feel free to make it the generic statement you submit everywhere. Two pages, double spaced.
Some schools will make you edit below two, however. So be ready to go down to as many as 500 words.
