Lawsuit a Good PS Topic?

Post by billharford » Sun Dec 25, 2011 1:18 am

A few years back I sued a small business in small-claims court after I got in an accident with a vehicle operated on its behalf. I did everything by myself, was rewarded judgment, and had to resort to searching for garnishees from past cases involving this company to collect my payment (the owner was a real crook and asshole). I thought this would make a good PS if I told the story and discussed how this affected my interest in law.

What do you guys think?

I think, if written properly, this story could work. Remember the personal statement is not the space for you to assert your legal superiority and experience. This story should be demonstrative of your values, character, and it should in some way try to address the question of "why law school" (note: this does not have to be a direct answer to that question).

I would be interested in reading this when you have a first draft completed. Feel free to PM it to me for comment if you like.
