gpa addendum yay or nay

Post by ikle » Mon Dec 05, 2011 11:07 pm

backstory:
I graduated from college with a 3.77 gpa. When looking purely at my grades from my freshmen year to my senior year of college, my lsac gpa becomes a 3.78..so basically no change. However, when I was still in high school, I took two classes at my local junior college and ended up getting Cs in both of them. They've been following me ever since. Factor those guys in, and my lsac gpa drops to a 3.67 (I SAD).

Unfortunately, I have no honorable excuse for my two Cs. I really just didn't care about school when I was younger. Do you guys think it would be wise for me to write an addendum about my grades jc even though I don't have a real legitimate excuse for them? If I were to write one, I would probably do something along the lines of explaining how I was a noob in high school, and that my gpa throughout college alone (3.77/3.78) is a more accurate portrayal of my academic fervor/lack of noob.

Appreciate any input!

I am in the exact same situation with two classes taken at a community college while in high school. I definitely plan on writing something short about it that ties in with my personal statement.

A .1 difference in GPA does not deserves an addendum. Especially since you have no valid excuse

+1

It is a relatively small grade difference (I said relatively) and, given that you have no reason, definitely nay.

My advisor suggested I write an addendum about the two C's I got from a community college while still in high school. She calculates my GPA would be a bit stronger at 3.77, otherwise. In truth, I believe those C's have made my GPA stronger. I am not satisfied with C's and I carry them with me into every semester. I carry them with me still.
