Required "Why X?"
Just wanted to know if it was appropriate to mention affordable, in-state tuition in a required "Why X?"

seems like a damn good reason to me. should be okay so long as its not the only reason you gave

i have read more than one admission dean's interview that specifically mention low cost of attendance as enticement so i think you're good
