double spaced or single spaced????
I'm aware that personal statements should be in between 2-4 pages but is it single spaced or double spaced??? Also, is it different for every school (single vs. double)? Last question I had was is it best to just write 2 pages since adcoms really aren't going to spend that much time reading the essays?

Double-spaced for almost all of them. Read each school's particular instructions to be sure.

Every document for every school should be double spaced. Nothing is single-spaced aside from the resume. And this is the default rule for everything you write from this point on in your legal career.

Thanks for the great info. I had my addenda single-spaced as well, so I guess I should change that too? As to your resume info.. I have a lot of spacing in between activities and all, but are you not allowed to do that? Does it have to have absolutely NO space and just all one line after the other?kaiser wrote:Every document for every school should be double spaced. Nothing is single-spaced aside from the resume. SD Cal uses 1.5 spacing but yeah it's mostly double spaced.kaiser wrote:Every document for every school should be double spaced. Nothing is single-spaced aside from the resume. And this is the default rule for everything you write from this point on in your legal career.

For resume, you have some leeway to change up the spacing. As long as the end product is pleasing to the eye. But yeah, for PS, DS, addendum, etc. they should all be double spaced. I can't imagine a school deviating from that for the core documents.Schang1 wrote:Thanks for the great info. I had my addenda single-spaced as well, so I guess I should change that too?
