UCLA Programmatic Contribution Essay Length Forum

I just want to make sure I am reading this correctly.

For the Programmatic Contribution essay can we upload an addendum of any length we choose or only an addendum of max 999 characters?

It seems to me like if you write it in the box there is the 999 character limit, but it does say that if we need more space we can upload an addendum.

Can the addendum then be any length?

It can be any length, but I would keep it to a page to be concise, given they already are reading a PS and possibly an additional essay if you have one. I worked pretty hard to fit mine into the space provided, which if I recall correctly, the 999 limit includes spaces. I felt mine ended up being pretty strong after going through a few drafts and having getting some positive feedback on my final submitted essay.

I'm sure others will offer similar advice, but usually shorter is better.
