DS Page Limits?

Post by franksandbeans » Thu Oct 20, 2011 2:32 pm

Some schools say they want supplemental essays (including the DS) to be under a page. Some schools just say they want a "brief" one. For this latter category of schools, is it OK to send a DS that goes on for 4-5 lines onto the second page?

do those schools allow for 10 or 11 pt font for the PS? if your DS isn't that size already, maybe you could just make the font smaller..

If you're writing a DS for another school that is one page, why not just use that one for the other schools as well? IMO, when a piece trails on for 1-3 lines, it just looks messy. Although, if a school doesn't state a page limit, then I would assume a few lines over wouldn't discount you.

You can also make the margins a bit narrower and tinker with the font size-- the minimum for each should be .5" and 10 pt, respectively.
