DS Questions
Right now, my PS grazes over, but mentions issues in my DS, and the reverse is true of the other document. Is this acceptable? Should a DS be entirely independent of the PS?

I have the same problem. Hopefully someone responds with some helpful advice.

Re: DS Questions
Its fine if they touch upon the same things, though there should be as little overlap as possible. I tried to use my application to paint a cohesive and complete picture of myself, and it involved consistent themes and threads that bound the whole thing together. Don't overkill things, but if your PS and DS touches upon similar events, but from a different slant, it shouldn't be a big deal. Though the best solution is to incorporate your PS and DS together if at all possible. if they revolve around the same issues or events, you could possibly weave a story together that combines both themes.

Re: DS Questions
I want to incorporate them together, and they are to a small degree in my PS, but NYU requires a separate DS.

Re: DS Questions
I wouldn't. Not saying it is wrong to do, but just not the direction I would go.
