Last time around I think a big flaw in my apps was the PS. I didn't take it very seriously, and basically just rewrote my resume in paragraph form. I want to "show" the adcomms who I am rather than just tell them..
I'm throwing around two ideas for a PS. You guys can be honest and tell me if they both suck.
Option 1: The story of my evolution from 260 pound fat kid in high school to 165 pound marathon runner.
Option 2: Something about my two year LDS mission in Brazil...
If they don't suck, which do you think an adcomm would prefer to hear about?

Re: PS ideas
0L here, so take my advice FWIW
Personally, I feel like it's hard to tell what would be 'better' just by looking at the ideas: either one could be compelling or a complete bust. What do you want to say with each story? What aspects of your character does each story highlight?

What schools did you apply to?ineptimusprime wrote:Last time around I think a big flaw in my apps was the PS. I didn't take it very seriously, and basically just rewrote my resume in paragraph form. I want to "show" the adcomms who I am rather than just tell them..

If your score was 154, I think you should probably retake. It might be your LSAT score not your PS.
Are you a flame or something? I'm not trying to be rude at all (I'm really not), but why would you think your PS is the problem when your score is 154?
I agree restating your resume is not a good strategy but I think you main problem is your score. With regards to your choice of PS topics, I think either one would be fine.

Re: PS ideas
I am retaking in october.
However, I do feel like I could have gotten into gonzaga and perhaps nebraska last year (rather than waitlisted) had my ps stood out more. That's what im referencing above. I have no delusions that a great ps is going to salvage a 154 lsat at the upper t2 and above, hence the retake. I in no way meant to imply a bad ps was the major or only reason for my less than stellar cycle, just a minor reason at a few schools.

Good luck on the retake. Like I said, each topic would be fine depending on the final product. It's hard to critique without the actual content. Maybe you can write both versions and then ask for opinions.ineptimusprime wrote:I am retaking in october.
