Spouse and Personal Statement
Is is acceptable, or even a good idea, to use the fact that your spouse has received an offer of admission in your "why this school" section of a personal statement? My immediate thought is that this is a good idea, as it suggests (especially if you are over their 75th in both numbers) that you are truly intending to attend if admitted. I have heard suggestions to the contrary, so I thought I would ask for some advice.

Re: Spouse and Personal Statement
I mentioned my ties to the city in which my husband works, noting my husband and his job, in my "why x" for the school in my current city. I got in, but I have no clue if it was necessary as this school doesn't seem to YP based on the graphs on LSN.
Basically, yes, I would do it, but I don't know how adcomms look at it.

Yes, but it should be the last thing you mentioned.
