death penalty ps?

Post by mb87 » Tue Dec 28, 2010 9:35 pm

What do you guys think? Is this an absolutely awful idea? My first instinct is to stay away from anything too political, but I actually had a cousin die on death row, so the essay is primarily about how that story has influenced my life/view of the law and not necessarily "death row = bad." Still too risky?

Maybe this is too vague... anyone care to read? I'd be happy to exchange.

Not too risky at all, in my opinion. It would be generic if you did not have such a personal example, but I think such a close, family tie to a major legal issue will make you stand out. I'd go for it.

I have no idea what you wrote, but just hearing how you had a cousin on death row has many interested. This is a topic I would definitely address and will most likely leave a lasting impression on the adcom.
