So I submitted all my apps with the same personal statement. I'm Puerto Rican with a 3.77/165. This is the error in the statement.
What was once a simply a job has become a way of life.
How bad will this hurt me?
I've already been held at Georgetown and UGeorgia, so it can't be a great sign, can it?

I honestly didn't notice it the first time - I had to read the sentence a few times to catch it. It's really not a big deal.

Do you think the hold's are a result of the typo, or just normal because of the numbers?eskimo wrote:I honestly didn't notice it the first time - I had to read the sentence a few times to catch it. It's really not a big deal.

Definitely normal. They wouldn't be put on hold because of one extra "a."Do you think the hold's are a result of the typo, or just normal because of the numbers?

I think typos matter inasmuch as the rest of your statement looks hurried and crappy. If it's one mistake in an otherwise fantastic essay, I doubt it will matter at all. Typos happen.

This. Typos are obviously undesirable, but generally not deal breakers. May be a tiebreaker though.eskimo wrote:I honestly didn't notice it the first time - I had to read the sentence a few times to catch it. It's really not a big deal.
