I would say that most people who qualify do write diversity statements. You'd be crazy not to. Is your real question: "How do I know I qualify to write a credible diversity statement?"

an interesting question. i am curious about this also. this also brings in consideration of racial and ethnic backgrounds.

i'd say of those who can and aren't lazy, try to write something, especially if it's a school that they're on the line numbers wise
