Proper Grammar?

Post by bb8900 » Mon Nov 08, 2010 5:56 pm

I am writing my PS.

I was wondering what is the proper way to say this:

The aspect that "most impressed me..."

OR

The aspect that "impressed me most..."

Anyone know?

Typically it's best to put the modifier close to the word it modifies. So "most impressed" would be best. This is largely a stylistic thing though.

Both are correct. Write out the full sentence and pick whichever seems to have the best flow. "Impressed me most" is more cumbersome and is more likely to lead to ugly sentence construction though.
