Interrupted college attendance

Post by eliekedourie » Sun Oct 24, 2010 11:17 am

How long should my addendum regarding a year I voluntarily took off from college be? I'm trying to use it to also highlight the dramatic increase in my GPA once I returned, but I'm concerned that taking time to explain how the time off improved my performance makes the addendum too long.

I'd also be interested. I started at 18 at community college, but then took time off because I enlisted in the military. My grades also dramatically increased when I went back in 2008. I wasn't sure of the appropriate length or essay type for this. Is it supposed to be like a shortened personal statement explaining, or just something cut and dry?

My addendum was about five sentences long. Keep it short and simple as possible in light of your circumstances.
