Which PS topic would be better?

Post by bluvlaw » Mon Oct 18, 2010 1:23 pm

Hi! I am stuck between two topics for my ps. Should I.....

write about me going through college dealing with my father being charged of arson & attempted murder or being a minority who was victimized by a neo-nazi?

Thanks.

I recommend writing both. Either could be a good PS, but the trick will be which one you can write better. Further, if you write both and they both come out well, you might be able to use the second topic as a diversity statement.

Thank you for your input. I considered writing about both but I was afraid they may have two totally different tones. I guess I have to keep playing with it :/

Since these statements aren't supposed to be particularly long, I think it's never a bad idea to try to write both. Once you get drafts of both together that you think you've edited to the best of your ability, you can post them and people can help you edit and decide which to use.
