Essay formatting

What is the preferred font/spacing? I'm using standard Times New Roman 12pt double-spaced, just wanted to check.

I think that's TCR. Also, 1" margins.

Is 12 the norm? Can one write on 11?

Schools have different directions; look at the apps.

My opinion? No one has ever gone wrong with 12pt TNR.

Most schools have no set directions, but anything below 10 is a no-no, and that's really pushing it. 12 is best, 11 if you must.
