11 pt font?

If a school does not specify other-wise, can we use 11 pt font instead of 12? If the app just says "2 pages, double-spaced"? Or will the school write "this person is a jerk" on our essay and throw it in the bin (or otherwise look unfavorably upon it)?

You can, but don't go lower than 10.
