Font - Office '07 v. Office '03 Forum

Just wondering if there is a general consensus regarding Calibri 11 (Office '07 default font) v. standard Times New Roman 12 (default font for prior versions) in the personal statements/other essays. I graduated before Office '07 was released so I've only used it in a business environment, in which we all now use the new Calibri default. Probably a nit-picky thing, but I'm not clear on whether Calibri has picked up in the academic setting and wanted to make sure my statement doesn't stand out for poor font-selection reasons.
