Adding a school-specific paragraph to my PS
I have my PS done, but one particular school specifically asks to include info like why I'm applying and why I want to go there. So what I've done is tack-on a paragraph to the end. Would someone be willing to take a look at what I have written and let me know if it seems cheesy or not genuine?

I'll take a look. I've been running into the same question in writing some of my PSs. I think if you can make it relevant, even if it is kind of tacked on, that it can work fine and probably won't count against you. As long as you make it clear that you're actually talking about that law school, and it's not a general statement ending in "...and that's why (School X) is right for me!" I think it'll be fine.

Does this school not have a "why X" essay option? The words "tacking on" make me wince.

Nope. But I did manage to tie-in why I want to go there with the overall message in my PS.d34dluk3 wrote:Does this school not have a "why X" essay option? The words "tacking on" make me wince.

I was thinking about the paragraph before the last. so that it seems more taylored towards the school

I was actually planning on doing this for every school. Good or bad idea?

Re: Adding a school-specific paragraph to my PS
I have a "why x" paragraph towards the end of my ps for each school.
I think it's compelling if you are able to link in who you are, and why/what you would give/get from Law School X.
Maybe, if I'm lucky, it will give me the point of difference schools are looking for in creating a "diverse student body". Hope so!

Re: Adding a school-specific paragraph to my PS
I've been thinking about this as well and I decided against putting in a school-specific paragraph in my PS.
Not only do I need the space but I also think it's bound to look tacked on...
It may be just for my PS but any program/class/professor I mention in the paragraph, admissions can figure out that I could have easily put in a similar program/class/professor of another school in its place.
Thought it wasn't worth it.
