Living abroad crucially shaped my academic interests and why I want to go to law school at all + I think I can explain how my perspectives would contribute to diversity in law school community. But having read all these DS on this forum, I am not sure if it is ok to write about stuff other than being URM or economically disadvantaged.

In my PS I address a different topic (leadership/ EC related) b/c I think the rest of my application does not address this aspect adequately-- I have an overall very academics-oriented resume, research and stuff.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)
I definitely think this could make for a good DS. Sounds like you already got a great framework, and it will be a really solid essay. DS dont necessarily have to be about URM or economically disadvantaged, just about something that you genuinely feel would bring diversity to the law school and legal community; like the beautiful and intelligent Asha said in her admissions blog, (paragraphsing) "don't write a DS about your great listening skills...that's just lame."

Best of luck for you.
