single or multiple PS?

Post by thedude221 » Mon Aug 16, 2010 9:21 pm

Do you write one and send them all to the same school, or not?

It's up to you dude. If you wanna write one big PS and substitute "and that's why XYZ school of law is right for me" go for it.

If you wanna put a little more effort into your app and tailor your PS specifically towards a certain school you can do that too.

I don't recommend the former, but it's your call.

I personally think when people do that it is super tacky.

Then again, I am just writing a general PS for all my apps, but without name dropping the individual school

I'm just using the same PS for all my applications. Not changing anything.

I wrote one, but I am adding more when applying to certain schools. ie: Why UCLA is my #1 choice opposed to other schools...

Idk, 2 pages is valuable real estate. Schools already know why they're awesome. I need every last word of my PS to flesh out who I am, and I don't want to expend that on reiterating what they already know.

yeah but I guess some schools just want to know their students konw which schools they are applying to and not just mass applying.

To each their own I suppose. I'm just saying don't be afraid to not make your PS school specific. It also has the added benefit of not risking the mistake of sending the wrong PS to the wrong school.
