My personal statement is just over a page using line and a half spacing. What is normal and what should I strive for?

Double-spaced is standard, and about 2-pages is what most schools prefer. Change what you have to double spacing and you should be about there. It's okay if you're a little under, better that than over (IMO at least)

Looking up schools I've seen a few that request 2 pages, a few that request 2 or more. I've never seen anyone request less than two pages. Write moar, IMO.
