I apologize if this issue has been addressed before but my preferred topic for my personal statement has to do with my mixed religious background and how that has shaped my life and experiences etc.
I understand that this could be used as a diversity statement but some of the schools that I am applying to do not allow for a diversity statement so I was just planning to use the subject as a personal statement.
Would it be reasonable to use that topic for my personal statement and then write a short essay on my socioeconomic background (I was raised in a lower-class, single parent household), as a diversity statement for the schools that allow it?
Thank you for the help..

Re: Personal Statement v. Diversity Statement Question
The safest reply is to suggest incorporating your diversity statement into your personal statement as you suggested but to respect school imposed page limitations if you decide to write something extra.
