Just end the second page with "So the secret to the cure for cancer & the key to world peace is...".
Do not exceed two pages is the safest advice.

I gambled with a 4 page statement, and things turned out ok. For schools that had an explicit 2 page limit, I just shrunk the font size and narrowed the margins and spacing. I don't think it had any negative impact on my cycle.

Seems short. Mine was 3 1/3 pages double spaced, both schools that I applied to requested that it be no more than 4 pages double spaced.

Did you check what your individual schools are asking for?

Follow the rules and play it safe. Either edit it to make it shorter or do as someone else said and play with the margins. But be careful with that second option - print it out and ask yourself, if I was an adcomm and this was the format the paper was written in, would I find to be easy to read?
