June 2010 LSAT takers PS Thread
Ok so the scores are out, some are retaking others are starting to focus on the PS. Since some showed interest in sharing Personal Statements with our fellow June LSAT'rs, either ask to PM or post it here. I prefer a PM but I would be happy to check it over (I just like using word thats why I prefer the PM.) so if anyone wants to swap let me know or just paste it here!
swap away..

I really enjoy editing and I've done it a lot. It takes me a long time, but I'll edit people's PS if they want. DON'T SEND IT TO ME IF YOU DON'T WANT HARSH CRITICISM. I'm not mean, but I can be blunt. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but if it needs to change I'm not going to sugar coat it.

OP - I am GRATEFUL that you started this thread. I've literally been siting here going "omg now what!? What's next, I wasn't ready to move forward yet." So this gets me moving on down the line. I have had a rough draft for several weeks now. I'd like to submit my PS and a diversity statement (which I have not yet written yet). But I feel like my PS really is more of a diversity statement. Can someone take me under their wing?

Awesome! I'd love to get more feedback on mine. It's longer, but it's for Berkeley. And it's a FIRST DRAFT -- but I'd love harsh criticism. I've heard that it's boring and repetitious, but I'd love to hear more -- even if it's the same criticism.

Count me in. I am starting mine this week.
I'd be happy to give constructive criticism. I don't really do grammar but I can help with content and structure.

Great thread. This is definitely one aspect of Applying that I have neglected to really research. Looking forward to doing so in the weeks/month(s) ahead though!

Re: June 2010 LSAT takers PS Thread
Hi guys! I'm definitely in for PS-swapping.
So far, I have a long Word document with beginnings/endings/random thoughts for my PS, so hopefully I can start pulling something together here in the next month or so.
It feels so weird to have stuff checked off my law school list! LSAT and transcripts are done; so now I just have to get that Personal Statement worked out. I'd like to have a solid one by the beginning of August (to give to my LOR writers) so with any luck I can crank something out before summer's over.
Good luck everybody, I love the Juners!

I have a rough draft PS down just to get my thoughts and direction in order. Would someone mind taking a look at it just to confirm I'm heading in a good direction? Its far from perfect or finalized but before I slave over it I want some reinforcements.
Feel free to PM me. Thanks!

I'm in on this.
I just took the June LSAT and I'm ready to get this PS thing going.
I have a B.A. in English, and would be willing to review/give input to others. Hopefully mine won't be too bad either.

Count me in. I don't even have a draft yet, just some topic ideas, but I'll be around once there's more to be reviewed.

I'm still a bit confused as to the approach I'm going to take in writing mine (i.e. tear jerker, timeline, conquerer of obstacles.)
I've read and given feedback on all that have sent me theres. If anyone can assist in my issue here, I'd appreciate it.

@hulk: I've found that I can usually tell how well a given approach will work within just a paragraph or so, and so when I find myself in your position I like to write the first couple paragraphs for each approach, wait a day, and then take a look. Feel free to PM me your paragraphs if you decide to try this. I've PM'd you another PS to look at; very kind of you to offer your help.

In on this as well. Got a really rough draft going so far, about 3/4 of a page (single spaced). Going to try and get that to a full page in the next couple of days and revise it a few times, then i'll be ready for some swapping.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
