Is this a good start?

Post by Dr. Strangelove » Sat May 22, 2010 1:01 pm

I'm thinking about what I want to do for a personal statement.
I'm thinking about writing on when I took on a leadership position on my fraternity and how that taught me to be more responsible (as well as more responsible academically) and encouraged me to take on other leadership positions.
Is this a good thing to write about or should I avoid talking about a past when I wasn't particularly diligent? (On the other hand- law schools will see my freshman grades and not be surprised by my initial feelings of apathy.)

Eh. Unless it's exceptionally written, I feel like this is a very trite topic.
