Do you have a recommendation from your boss at the law firm which would support their very positive view of you, despite being passed over?

Do you address the reason you were passed over, or is it left to the imagination?

I tend to agree with your father. Better to rewrite the PS than leave the adcomms with questions, or wondering why they should give you the promotion of becoming a lawyer if you got passed over for a promotion at work. It doesn't leave the best impression. Just my .02

Really hard to decide out of context.

My opinion is that you should remove it. It can be considered in two perspectives: 1) you are showing yourself in a negative light that might not be favorable to law schools, or 2) (this is what I feel) this really isn't that big of a negative, and may seem condescending towards other applicants who had to struggle with cancer, etc.

Just possibilities.
