And maybe write something unique and personal so it's not so easy to steal.

That's what I've been thinking. What an incredibly worthless PS/DS in the first place if someone can just "steal" it. Not very "personal" or "diverse" obviously.

OP are you a quick writer? How long would a rewrite take?

You can write a decent PS in literally two hours. If you can't go from nothing to polished PS in a weekend then you're doing something wrong.

+1. I wrote mine in 2 hours as well. Just bite the bullet, sit down and start typing. You can edit and edit and edit after you spurt out a draft.

An alternate explanation could be that the type of person who would steal a PS and DS then tell the original writer about it and also lie about his ethnicity on the application may be the type of person willing to pawn off someone else's personal experiences as their own. There are many compelling personal experiences that can't be fact checked.

There's a logical fallacy at play here: The PS/DS must be meaningless/non-original in order for it to be stolen.

Pretty much all of the stuff posted on here is "easy to steal" no matter how original it is.

I didn't claim that only generic PSs could be stolen. Unique and personal PS/DSs are harder (not impossible) to steal in the sense that they incorporate concrete, sometimes verifiable experiences that some thieves might not be willing to risk claiming as their own.
