You know what, the worst case scenerio is that you/she don't/doesn't get accepted anywhere and just have to apply again next cycle. I'm sure they'll have forgotten by then.

The TLS interview with Andy Cornblatt of GULC mentions what to do if this happens. It's not the end of the world. You'd be surprised how often it happens, from what adcomms say. We mentioned it in one of our first blog posts. (LinkRemoved)
It would help to do a "Why X" addendum to each school that allows them. Just as Dean Cornblatt says, it'll be fine.

FWIW, last year I sent NYU a personal statement that rambled on about why a different school was the perfect fit for my interests and experience. They still let me in.
