Hiding at these ridiculously crowded mingling/networking events going on this week. Level B was pretty packed tonight, and for a club, there was a remarkable absence of dancing.
And yes, woeisme, I neglected to add you. I'm still having trouble placing niclaw though, but I think I remember who gravity is...I think...

Finally met three of you last night. I'm glad I used my actual picture or I would be so lonely.
Those of you that have seen me and not said hi--not cool, you should probably work on that.
BBQ tonight? Another Bar Tab on Saturday?

I hung out with nesker a couple times...nothing like what I'd imagined; I always pictured a scrawny, scruffy, smart-ass type kid...needless to say he's nothing like that. hung out w/ woeisme last night too...no preconceptions there, but he didn't disappoint
looking forward to meeting the rest of you

Looking forward to meeting more of you. CampbellRH, you're in my section, but I didn't get a chance to say hi since I was talking with Kathy after class. Maybe I'll see you tonight at the BBQ.
KN, when do you come out of hiding?
Interested to meet Joonbug and Retasu as well. Think I met Normalien last night, but I'm having a hard time remembering who he was.
For the rest of you, if you were at Level B last night, I was one of 2 non-LLM guys dancing a bit. You might see me hanging out with Neskerdoo.

I thought that might be you, but I wasn't sure!
And I will be at the BBQ tonight, though maybe not for long...I need to get started on that 250+ pages of reading for Con Law on friday. fun stuff.

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
I just rented the Chicago 10, and I'm thinking of watching it Friday night. If anyone wants to join me, let me know.
I haven't seen it, so I can't comment on the quality, but it should be interesting in the least and worth seeing. And of course, people of all political tendencies are welcome. Yippes are at least good for a giggle, if nothing else.
As for the title, Jerry Rubin stated that he thought it should include Bobby Seale, regardless of the severance, as well as the two primary defense attys in the story, since the "two lawyers went down with us." Hence, Brett Morgan titling it the Chicago 10.

I don't have the projector here, so we would need to watch on a normal TV.
In any case, email me if you want to watch it.

I talked to Financial Aid today, and the lady there (who was very friendly, fwiw) told me that Karla Vargas was at that very moment in a meeting with the federal gov't aid folks, and that she'd be sending out an email sometime tomorrow. In the meantime, you can do that temporary forwarding thing that was attached to Karla's email (and also available in the FinAid office) and that'll get you money within 1 or 2 days, I was told.

Re: Cornell Law School 2011
Yeah, I just talked to Karla and she said they hope they will come through soon but that they can't count on it for a few weeks. The short term loan might be the solution. They also haven't heard anything from the grad plus people, which is what is worrying me.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to do that. Better that then running up a credit card and being late on my rent.

I filled out the loan paperwork yesterday and got the money in my account today, very quick turn around. And now i don't have to put my groceries on a credit card!

We aren't talking about private loans, but thanks for sharing.erin429 wrote:I filled out the loan paperwork yesterday and got the money in my account today, very quick turn around. And now i don't have to put my groceries on a credit card!

I'm pretty sure she is talking about the short term financial aid loan that you can get from the financial aid office. Not a private loan.

yikes. it was for federal loans. if anyone is worried about not being able to pay rent this month, it might be a good option because it works so quickly.

So Day 1 is done...
thumbs up to Rosstafarian, KidA, and erin429--we all talked in class today and didn't sound like complete idiots (though we have how many more days to go?)
